Seeking the Truth
We all have our beliefs. Whether we are Christian, Islamic, Jewish, or atheists, we have our opinions and we believe we are right. But can anyone be 100% sure they are right? We may say we are sure, but how can we be? There is no way to prove without any doubt that God exists or doesn't exist. There is no way to prove 100% that any one religion is correct over another. So no matter what we believe we know, we only believe we know it. We cannot be 100% sure of it without it being proven to us in some way.
I am a Christian and I believe 100% that Jesus is the Only way to heaven. That doesn't mean I can't be wrong. As a Christian, I am confident enough in my beliefs that I am willing to look into problems with Christianity. I sometimes go to religious discussion groups on-line and read what others say. Mostly in those groups I find they are filled with atheists making fun of those who believe, or Islam trying to convince everyone they are the greatest religion. You have some Jewish and some Christians who come in, as well as a few others, but the majority is the Atheist and Islamic. Both of those however will often make remarks against Christianity. I do not fear anything they say. They can post any supposed contradictions in the Bible they wish and it doesn't bother me to look into them because I have complete faith that whatever the truth is, I will find it. So far I have always found good solid explanations for why they are not actually contradictions. If someone was to ever post a contradiction that I cannot find a good enough answer to, it will then make me question my beliefs. But that is okay. Because if I find out Christianity is not right, then I would want to know because the truth is more important than believing I am right.
The number one rule any religion must have if it is worth following at all, is to tell its members to seek the truth. If your religion tells you not to ever question anything it teaches, it is a good religion to turn away from. Because if any religion is the one true religion, then if you seek the truth, you will only find that religion to be right. The only reason any religion would have to tell its members to not question what they are told to believe, is if it fears those members will find there are major holes in their philosophies.
Question your beliefs! Find out what other religions are saying is wrong with your religion and look into those things. Take those points to a leader of your church or a friend and find explanations for them. If your religion is right, you have nothing to fear because they will have good logical explanations for them. If your religion is wrong, don't you want to know it "before" you die and face God? I don't know about you. I don't care what religion I am following, it is far more important to me that I find the truth before I die, than to follow a religion with the chance I could be following the wrong one. As a Christian the Bible even tells me "The truth will set you free". Following the wrong religion blindly will not.
Some may say that we can all be right. This is not even a logical claim. Look, Christians believe Jesus is the "only" way to heaven. Jews believe the Christ has never truly come yet. Jehovahs think you get there through your good works. Some religions believe you are reincarnated over and over until you get life right. How is it logically possible for all of these to be right? For one to be right, it automatically says the others are wrong. ...... Or just use simple logic. If God makes the universe and the planets and on Earth at least he places life. He makes man and he makes a paradise that is flawless and has no evil in it. Is he going to tell everyone to just go ahead and follow any religion you want and all of them will be right? Why even create religion in the first place? Why give us rules to begin with if all rules will be right? This doesn't even make simple sense. The fact God gave us any rules tells me that not all rules are right. You simply do not set rules to begin with unless there are particular rules that need to be followed. This pretty much punches a hole through Hinduism even before we begin huh?
Seriously though. Plain simple logic says there are rules, and that means only one religion can actually have it right. Either there is only one religion that is correct, or no religion is correct. There is no other logical answer. So the real question then becomes who is right? Is it Christianity, or Islam, or another religion? Or are atheists right? Here is my first answer to that. Whatever you believe, whether you are any one of the religious groups or atheist, the most important thing to you should be to learn the truth. Not prove that you are right. And the first step to that is to look into the flaws with your own beliefs.
Below will be a list of religions. As I write articles about each one, I will link them here. This will take some time to read up on each religion and write the articles, so if yours is not in the list or doesn't have a link to an article connected to it yet, don't let that stop you. Google mistakes about your religion (ea... "Mistakes with Mormon beliefs") and read some of the articles. Dig into what they say are the mistakes and try to find answers to counter their arguments and prove they are not mistakes.
