What is Salvation?
Christians are always telling people they need to be saved. Salvation is always the most important message they preach, but just what exactly is it?
When Adam and Eve sinned, it stained their souls. From that point on, everyone who was ever born through Adams seed was born with a soul already corrupted by sin. The problem is sin cannot exist in Gods presence. If God would allow anyone to enter heaven with a soul corrupted by sin, it would literally destroy their soul. So God could never allow anyone to enter heaven in that state.
So God gave us Jesus, who was the only begotten Son of God, and was God in the flesh to save us. When He died and shed His blood for us, He became a sacrifice that was so holy and pure that it allows God to wash our souls clean. That is what salvation truly is. The cleansing of our souls so you can enter heaven. Those who do not have a soul washed clean by the blood of Jesus, will unfortunately share the same punishment as the devil and his angels will for rejecting God.
However it is important to know that not everyone automatically gets their soul cleaned. The cleansing of the soul is not a physical thing. It is a spiritual gift from God. The only way one can possibly accept a spiritual gift is to truly believe it is real. If you do not fully believe it is real, how can you accept it?
To accept the gift of salvation, one must believe the following things.
1) That Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.
2) That Jesus willingly sacrificed Himself and died on the cross for us.
3) That God raised Jesus from the dead.
4) You must believe that Jesus is Lord.
You must believe those things strongly enough that you can tell someone else that Jesus is Lord and mean it. If you can do that, you will be saved and go to heaven when you die.
Many will try to tell you it is about turning away from sin. They might say things about being baptized and several other things. Those are things man has interpreted but the Bible never actually says. Salvation comes by believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Nothing else. Everything else after that is about your personal relationship with the Lord.
