Proof in Prophecy with Israel
With all of the other evidence of God, one doesn't have to look hard to find more. This is a case where the Bible gives us proof through Prophecy that came true....
Ezekiel 37:21-22 (593-571 BC)
21 Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms.
Israel was split into two kingdoms when this prophecy was written. But it doesn't just say it would be made into one kingdom. It says that the people will be gathered from every direction and brought back to their land.
641 to 663 years after this was written, in 70AD, Israel was decimated by the Romans. Thousands killed, thousands taken into slavery and the rest fled into the other nations of the world. For 1,878 years Israel did not exist anymore. Jerusalem and their Holy Temple was practically another Bible myth. Then in 1948 they returned to Israel and it had been revived. Something I have not found to have been done by any other country in history. But even if it has been done, the fact remains, that verse told of something that would happen thousands of years after it was written. And it wasn't the only one.
Amos 9:14-15 (788–747 BC) (Oldest Book of the Bible)
14 “Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, And they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, And make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 “I will also plant them on their land, And they will not again be rooted out from their land Which I have given them,” Says the Lord your God.
How about another prophecy from Ezekiel?
Ezekiel 37:11-14 (593-571 BC)
11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people. 14 I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken and done it,” declares the Lord.’”
All three speak of bringing the people of Israel back to their own land. Which means they had to have been moved out of their land for that to come true.
Just as an extra interesting fact, God always refers to the Jews as His people. He always refers to Israel as His Holy Land.
In 1967, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan all decided to wipe Israel off the map. These lands are far larger than Israel. They had more than twice the soldiers and twice the weaponry over Israel. Comments were being made that it would be a quick war to wipe Israel out. The war lasted a total of 6 days before the United Nations brokered a seize fire.
In those 6 days, Israel had added the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. Israel had tripled in size. They lost about 800 soldiers compared to the 20,000 Arabs who died.
There has likely never been a war that would be a greater example of David defeating Goliath in the history of the world. Which just happens to be another story of God taking a hand in protecting His people.
Whatever you wish to tell yourself. When you really look at the facts, it is difficult to deny that Bible prophecy is real, and a very real God will do what He promises.
And if the Bible continues to speak truth, far greater examples will be happening in our near future.
