The Second Coming of Christ
The world will still be reeling from the last seven years of chaos. The antichrist will have control of the entire world. Christians, those who are still alive among the Tribulation Saints will be in hiding. Then the sun and the moon will go dark and stars will seem to be falling. Lightning will flash across the sky from one horizon to the other. Then every eye will look up and see Him coming in the clouds, riding on a white horse in all His glory and power! Behind Him will be His bride, following Him on white horses of their own. The angels will be sent forth to gather the elect, the 144,000 Jews who were true to Him and the remaining tribulation saints who did not take the mark of the beast and did not worship his image. They will not be taken to Him in the clouds, but will be taken to Armageddon.
Mark 13:24-27 (NASB)
24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.
Jesus will come down to Armageddon and face the antichrist and false prophet as well as the great armies of the world that have gathered there. Angels will catch the antichrist and false prophet and they will be cast into the Lake of Fire alive. With nothing but words from His mouth, Jesus will destroy the hundreds of thousands in the armies. They will all be slaughtered and the blood will flow high. Then a great angel will descend with chains and will take the devil and throw him into an abyss where he will be trapped for a thousand years.
Revelation 19:20-21 (NASB)
20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
Revelation 20:1-3 (NASB)
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he took hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he threw him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.
Then there will be the judgment of the Sheep and the Goats.
