Does God Have Respect for People or Not?

Some will list verses showing both ways and say they are contradictions.  This is another translation problem for when I used the New American Standard Bible, which is one of the more accurate translations, none of the verses I look up saying God respects them had the word respect being used.
 
Another thing one needs to understand however is the word Respect can be used in different ways. I can have respect for someones feelings, but I don't have to respect them as an authority of a certain subject.

I respect a professional athlete's abilities on the field, but I do not respect them as someone to idolize.
