Adam Doesn’t Die the Day he Ate of the Tree of Knowledge
Genesis 2:17
17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
Genesis 5:5
5 So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.
TRANSLATION PROBLEM - The word for die in Greek that was used was muwth-muwth. If used once it was meant as to die or died. When used twice, it was meant in a sense as Beginning to Die. Adam would have lived forever but once he ate the fruit, he began to die. His body began to breakdown with age as ours does with a surety that it would end in death.

Basically, Adam was meant to live forever, but the day he ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge, that very moment his body became mortal and aged as we do, if not more slowly. Instead of living forever, he did not last even a thousand years. The moment he ate the fruit, the dying process started.
