Simple Logic: Violence Shows the One True Religion
When looking at violence in religion, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. Most of the world goes about it the wrong way. I have spent time searching on violent religions and almost every article I find bases it on which religions followers are the most violent. That is the worst way you can look at it because you are holding a religion at fault for those who don’t actually follow its beliefs.
Many in the world see Christianity as one of the most violent religions. Yet if you read the Bible, you will not find one place where Jesus or his disciples ever promote violence in their teachings. The closest you will find is when one sliced the ear of a roman secretary when they came to take Jesus away. That however is a case where the disciple was wrong for what he did, and Jesus rebuked him for his actions, and then put the ear back on the secretary’s head and healed him. Then Jesus went with the Romans willingly. Yes there are some passages in the old testament that are violent, but those were for another time and Christianity does not recognize those as how a Christian should act. Ever! Judaism may follow it as they only follow the Old Testament, but Christianity springs off of Judaism and follows the teachings of Christ and his Apostles. Jesus never taught violence. In fact, when you break down the teachings of Jesus Christ away from the Judaism beliefs, Christianity is arguably the most honorable of them all.
In fact, it is not only wrong to hold the violence of followers who ignore the correct teachings, but you can actually count that violence as a reason to believe it is the right religion. Before you jump out of your seat, let me explain why.
When judging which religion is right, you must be doing it on one consistent premise. That God is real. After all, if God is not real, then no religion is right. So for one of the religions to be the right religion that God is really behind, you have to first assume that God is real. However, if God is real, then it should be accepted that He has opposition and the devil is real as well. All one needs to do is watch the news any given night and it’s easy to see that there is also evil in the world. So that says there must be a devil too, unless the religion professes God is also evil.
So with the premise that God is real and the devil is also real, what is the one thing you would be able to count on the devil doing to the one correct religion? Make it look as bad as possible. You certainly don’t fight your opposition by supporting them and making them look good now do you? So based on this knowledge, the one religion that actually teaches the most peaceful ways but has the most violence defacing it by false followers is most likely the one correct religion.
And here we have Christianity in which does not have one teaching from Christ to ever support violence of any kind, and somehow that same religion is considered the most violent by many. Why? Because it has such a history of those who falsely claim to be of that religion while committing violent acts.
What about Islam?
Islam does not have a history of people committing violence while falsely claiming to be Islamic. It has the largest amount of radicals committing violence. Radicals are not falsely claiming their position as following Islam. They are just taking the teachings of the Quran too literal. But the fact is, the Quran does promote the violence.
What about the truly peaceful religions?
There are some religions that have very little history of violence if any at all. Ask yourself this however, if the devil is real, why would he not attack those religions? Why would he ignore those? He will ignore them because He knows which religion is correct and that is the one that he needs to destroy. If a religion is the wrong one and is already leading people to hell, why would the devil wish to attack a religion that is doing his work for him? So he leaves it alone, considers it an ally, and attacks the religion that is truly of God.
So as you look at God as love and the devil as evil, and match it up to the different religions and what they actually teach, it begins to paint a very clear picture. The one true religion of God is the one that preaches love and forgiveness, and the most violence is done in its name. Which is Christianity.
