How We are Saved: The Truth of God's Word
According to the truth of the Word of God, we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ being the Son of God and that God raised Him from the dead. If you believe that with all your heart, you will be saved. It is through faith in Jesus alone! Nothing else!
There are many churches and preachers that will say that you need to be baptized by water to go to heaven. There are many who say we are saved by faith and works and some that believe we are saved by works alone. There are many who teach that we must repent of sin to be saved. These are all false doctrines. They are beliefs that come from man interpreting God's Word to mean something it never truly says.
If you do not know what a Primary Verse is, please read my article on the Power of Primary Verses. Overall in the Bible, there are a total of 18 Primary verses I have found so far that tell us exactly how we are saved. Nine of them are from the writers of the New Testament books. The other nine verses are from the words of Jesus Himself. Every single one of these primary verses make it very clear they are speaking specifically about salvation. Every single verse says we are saved by believing in Jesus or having faith in Jesus. None of these verses mention anything about repenting of sin, water baptism or doing works.
These first two verses are the most detailed and clearly state exactly how we are saved....
Romans 10:9-11 (NASB)
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
If you believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, and that God raised Him from the dead. You will be saved. It is not a result of works of any kind because if it was, we would be able to boast that we saved ourselves. It is strictly a gift from God to anyone who accepts it.

That is 18 verses saying you are saved through faith. Yet, there is not one primary verse that says you are saved by works, repenting of sin, or by water baptism. So for anyone to argue that you are saved by anything other than believing in Jesus, is absolutely in direct contradiction of God's Word and that is a teaching from the devil himself.
If you are a believer in one of these other doctrines, I would suggest you read my articles explaining why they are false doctrines.
