Homosexuality is Not the Second Unforgivable Sin
Can someone please point me to even one person who was not a sinner before they accepted Jesus? Can someone please show me what verse in the Bible says that we must clean up our lives and stop all sinning before we are good enough to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior? Can someone please tell me what the second unforgivable sin is?
Not one of these three things are supported in the Bible.
Everyone through history has been born into sin. We are all sinners until God chooses us and washes us clean. Jesus never tells us to clean up our act before turning to Him. He will take us as we are and do great and wonderful works in our lives! He will make us new! There is only one unforgivable sin. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Every other sin is forgivable.
Do you agree with this? Then answer one question.
Why don't these same rules apply to homosexuals?
I often see Christians posting things saying how just because we are Christians, it doesn't mean we are perfect. The Bible says we all fall short. Nobody is without sin. So how is it that a Christian who sins can still go to heaven, but a homosexual cant turn to God unless they give up their homosexuality?
The Bible says that if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, you will be saved. You know what it doesn't say? That if you stop sinning you will be saved.
Here is the deal folks. This is the truth according to the Bible.
It does not matter who you are, what you have done or what sin you are caught up in. If God changes you to desire God, and you believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead and you confess audibly that Jesus is the Lord, you will be saved. From that moment, if you are truly born again, you will start striving to grow closer to God. You will read His Word. You will Study His Word. You will pray every day and always ask God to forgive you for your sins. And the more you fill yourself with God, the more He will change your heart to turn away from sin.
I will not even tell you that you need to quit sinning. Whatever sin is in your life. Just focus on getting closer to God. If you do that, God will change you! God will do a great and wonderful thing in your heart. Any habitual sin in your life? That will come to an end. It might stop immediately. That desire for it might gradually fade. One way or another, it will come to an end if you continue to have a desire to grow closer to God. The more you fill your life with Jesus, the less room there will be in it for sin.
If you are gay, there is no rules in the Bible that says you cannot turn to God. There is nothing that says you cannot accept Jesus into your heart. But if you are truly going to serve God, I will give you one warning. I am not going to say you have to stop practicing homosexuality. I will say you have to be willing to let it go. You don't have to get rid of it, but you have to be willing to let it go, because God will absolutely change your heart. You will know the truth that it is a sin according to the Bible and God will pull you out of that, if you give Him your all.
There will come a time when you will be faced with which master you will serve. God, the master of all that you see, or the master of flesh. If you choose God, He will draw you away from homosexuality. Not against your will though. You need to be willing to let Him draw you out of that.
The most important thing for you, should be to grow closer to God. Do not give it a middling kind of effort. Salvation is not a some what kind of deal. For as many Christians who have pointed their holier than thou fingers at you for so long, many of them if not all of them will find they may not be truly saved. When someone is truly born again, they desire God! Not just on Sundays but every day! It doesn't matter if you are gay, straight, addicted to porn, a prostitute, or whatever. It doesn't matter if you have murdered someone in cold blood. If you give your all to God, He will change you to desire to be righteous.
Too many Christians have forgotten that about God. For so long the church has pushed so hard against homosexuality that it has blurred the line between hating the sin and loving the sinner. It has forgotten that in the end, homosexuality is no more of a sin than having sex outside of marriage. It is still just a sin. A forgivable sin and God will change a homosexual to desire Him as easy as He will change anyone else who gives their heart to Him.
So please, if you are gay, do not think that you cannot have God in your life. You can! No matter what some Christians have said in the past. You don't have to stop being gay to turn to God. You only have to be willing to let Him change you as you strive to grow closer to God. And the truth is, that is no different than what any other Christian has done. Every true Christian has had to let their old self die and become a new creature in the Lord. And you wont find one true Christian who regrets it.
All it takes to start is your faith in Jesus and confessing Him as your Lord and Savior.
